Ero Guro
The Shadow and Light of Society by Shintaro Kago

Shintaro Kago's "Ero Guro" is a profound exploration of the psyche, blending 'erotic' and 'grotesque' elements deeply rooted in Japanese culture. This genre represents complex narratives about human consciousness and reality, with roots based in the psyche of Japanese culture.

Kago's art, often seen as the typification of the Ero Guro movement, is widely shared on social media, often by those unaware of its creator. It stands as a testament to the universality of his themes and the depth of his symbolism. This widespread resonance underscores his impact, positioning him as one of the world's most influential artists, recognized for the global connection with his work.

This ongoing series titled "Ero Guro" by Kago offers a philosophical journey through the human mind, exploring the complexities of modern existence through manga. Leading the Ero Guro movement, alongside luminaries such as Junji Ito, Kago delves into the bizarre and unsettling aspects of the psyche, urging audiences to confront and explore deeper parts of their nature, particularly themes of eroticism and body horror.

Our goal with this series is to provide an enriching interactive experience for collectors, fostering meaningful dialogues with Kago and deepening their understanding of the Ero Guro philosophy. Token gating allows us to provide special access to Kago Sama and his work, as well as a plethora of future projects accessible only to collectors. One such ongoing activity allows us to provide collectors with the opportunity to have their individual portraits created directly by Kago Sama, an activity he loves as it allows him to transpose his surrealistic ideas onto his collectors directly.

Kago's work catalyzes introspection and societal examination. The Ero Guro movement reflects the dichotomies of the human condition, shining light on both the shadows and brighter aspects of society. It invites viewers to explore the unseen and contemplate philosophical questions. As the series progresses, Kago's artistic mastery will continue to stimulate discussions on art's role in society. For instance, the exploration of the Japanese psyche through Ero Guro can lead to a deeper understanding of cultural nuances in manga, which has become a popular format for memes in Western culture. This cross-cultural exchange highlights the universal appeal of manga and its ability to convey complex themes humorously and accessibly.

This project presents a narrative that resonates with the collective human experience. We are as eager as you are to see where this project leads and explore the discussions that will emerge from its development.

"Ero Guro" by Shintaro Kago is a journey of discovery, exploring the nuances of our collective consciousness and standing as a testament to the power of art in articulating the complexities of human nature and society.

The series will launch next month with "Aquarium - Fingers" and will be followed by a new release on the first Wednesday of every month for a year. Each release will be accompanied by a calendar of satellite projects which will also grow over time, starting with the custom portraits and progressing into new ideas as Kago Sama develops them.
